PurrfectPlay – Toys

Why we founded Purrfectplay:

Finding nontoxic quality toys for our furry loved ones was difficult— most cat and dog toys are made in China, with bright synthetic materials and stuffed with who knows what! No way were our pets sticking those toys in their mouths! So I pulled out my sewing machine and started making pet toys. At first, I gave them as gifts, then I started taking special orders. Finally I founded Purrfectplay. I think you have heard this story before: find a need and fill it. That is what we still strive to do, every day.  

Who we are: We make our toys in our Indiana workshop. We are a small band of radical pet toy makers. (Well, not really, but we like to think so) Doing our work with our tough vintage sewing machines and our nature based fabrics and wools. Each toy is individually produced and each of our customers and their pets is important and valuable to us.

I was the kind of young girl who always had a cat on her lap. I loved art, cats, and nature. When I grew up, I studied art and biology and adopted a fur family of my own. Finding toys worthy of our family was a big problem. Most toys were made in China from bright synthetic materials and were just not safe. So, we started making our own toys. Eventually, we decided to share them and started Purrfectplay!

We make our toys in our Indiana workshop, lovingly crafted and fun. No synthetics, no dyes, no plastics just the natural fibers cats and dogs love. If Mother Nature doesn’t make it, we don’t use it!
